Tennis Elbow

I am a competitive athlete and personal trainer, with a primary focus in show jumping, and indoor and outdoor cycling. I have accumulated many injuries over the years of competitive sports. When I first came to Dr. Liu, I had chronic epicondylitis (tennis elbow) in my left arm. I tried therapy, pain killers, injections, you name it, and I was in constant pain. I could not even hang up my clothes! Within 2 weeks, Dr. Liu dramatically minimized my pain through acupuncture therapy. Within 6 weeks, the pain was totally gone and the injury healed! In the meantime, I asked Dr. Liu for help with other old injuries, such as bursitis, and old shin splint, and an ACLmeniscus tear in my knee. Within a short period of time, she addressed all of these problems, and I am now back to running long distances for the first time in many years, pain free! I have sent many clients to Dr. Liu, and they followed up to tell me how much she has helped them. It is a great feeling to have an association with such an outstanding health practitioner.

Sciatica

After being in a car accident, I developed back and hip pain(sciatica). At the same time, I was pregnant. The pain came and went in the beginning until one day I couldn’t sit for over 20 minutes or climb onto bed myself. I had to wait for someone to drag me out of the chair after a group meeting. My ob doctor suggested that I go see a physical therapist, which I tried doing 3 times a week for 2 weeks. It didn’t work at all and even worsened my situation. I almost crashed into a truck while driving because my leg hurt so much that I couldn’t even push the brake pedal. My family doctor suggested that I have a steroid injection, but no one wanted to take the risk to do it on a pregnant woman. So my family doctor suggested that I rest at home and apply for short-term disability.

When I saw Dr. Liu for the first time, she told me we could try 12 treatments and go from there. In the beginning, I told her where my pain was, but after a few visits, I couldn’t even feel exactly where the pain was. The pain was totally gone after 8 visits.

Osteoarthritis

I have been coming to see Dr. Liu since dealing with osteoarthritis in my right knee after many years of teaching aerobics. I am impressed with Dr. Liu's knowledge and expertise in performing acupuncture, and I believe my knee has improved as a result of my ongoing treatments. I like the fact that I am using a "natural" way to promote healing, rather than depending on medications that only mask symptoms without getting to the underlying problem. Based on my experience, I would highly recommend Dr. Liu to anyone needing help with a chronic physical ailment that may not be responding to traditional medical approaches. Fertility 

After trying to conceive for 9 months I found myself looking for alternative assistance. After 6 weeks of acupuncture treatment from Dr. Liu I became pregnant. Hip Pain

I suffered from right hip pain for 11 months that greatly limited my participation in martial arts and many sports that I love. I had tried hundreds of dollars of OTC products with minimal to no relief! With a ski trip and yoga retreat planned, and unable to get in to an orthopedic physician on short notice, I turned to Dr. Liu for assistance. She was able to see me right away and I experienced enough relief after one treatment that I was able to fully participate in the planned activities. Lower Back Pain & Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

I have been practicing in the dental profession for over thirty years, which has resulted in chronic neck, back and wrist pain.Bending over patients, leaning to one side and repetitive motions with my hands have all contributed to this soreness.I had been treated by a chiropractor for many years, and had also been through two series of physical therapy which alleviated the pain temporarily, but as soon as I returned to work no amount of ibuprofen, ice or heat would bring relief to my throbbing back or the electric shocks and numbness in my hands.

In January of 2003, I awoke one morning and could put no weight on my right leg.The pain in my lower right back was stabbing; I could not find any comfortable position to sleep or sit. My physician ordered an MRI and EMG.After being diagnosed with herniated discs in my back and carpal tunnel syndrome in both wrists, I was offered steroid injections in my back and surgery for the carpal tunnel syndrome.Neither of these options appealed to me, and the idea of being out of work while my wrists recuperated was not an option.I knew of many hygienists that had carpal tunnel surgery and were unable to practice again.

I had met Jane in my office and she offered to perform acupuncture.She treated my back first since that was the most painful area.After one treatment my back had improved so much that I was standing straighter and sleeping better.After ten treatments I was pain free and have continued to be for the past year.My wrists were treated next and even after ten-hour days, I no longer have any wrist pain.Jane has been a career and life safer for me.Her knowledge, skill, and compassionate nature are exceptional.

Fibromyalgia

I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia in January of 2005 after repeated trips to my Doctor. I was so tired all the time and achy I had to go out of work on Disability because the pain was so great. I went to several specialists; including Rheumatologist all said the same thing that there was no cure for this. I was placed on several different pain meds all causing their own problems.

My Husband suggested that I see Dr. Jane Liu. A few of his students of Northern Shaolin Academy were seeing her at that time. At that point to walk up the stairs was very painful & my breathing was getting worse (another symptom). But anyone who has this knows Fibro can have so many different symptoms.

When I first went to see Dr. Liu, I was so bad I could hardly make the drive over to her office. I had a 1 hour consultation with her and she asked me a lot of questions. I told her what I was diagnosed with and asked her is there anything she could do for me.She gave me a smile and said “Yes”! So I lay on the table and she starts placing these very hair thin needles in all different parts of my body, after 15 minutes she would twist them. after she twisted I instantly felt the energy going through my body still not sure of what would happen whenshe was done, but it relaxed me so much I feel asleep, I thought to myselfeven ifnothing else happens from this at least I'll get some sleep thatwas something with Fibro you do not get much of. But to my surprise I felt so much relief after my 1st treatment. I started seeing her twice a week for the first 3 months than dropped to 1 day a week to 1 day a month. Now I only see her when ever the need, which is not very often.Dr Liu has helped me so much I returned to work full time, back to everything I used to do before this terrible illness.

While Fibro willnever totallybe out if my system I now have it under control instead ofthe other way around and only after a few months of Dr Liu working withme. I call her just to see how she is doing. Believe me Acupuncture can work for you give it a chance.

Arthritis

I have been a patient of Dr. Jane Liu for the treatment of arthritis pain. Dr. Liu has been very professional and careful to explain everything she is doing.

The relief of pain in my case is remarkable. My activities of daily living have improved and increase. The feelings of depression related to pain and difficult mobility have lifted.

Dr. Liu has a regular procedure of hand washing in between patients. Her office is clean, neat and projects a clam environment. I plan to continue my patient relationship with Dr. Liu when she returns from China.

Infertility

My husband and I were trying to get pregnant since four years ago when I deliver my son who is now 4 years old. I never thought it was going to be so difficult to get pregnant again. After having 2 miscarriages I decided to go to a fertility specialist. I went under fertility drugs and four inseminations when we decided to try for an IVF. I did 3 IVF with very poor results. Just a few eggs to implant or no eggs at all. The doctor said my only problem was related to the poor quality of the eggs I have due to my age; 41 years old.

After that 3rd IVF without success my husband and I decided to try for alternative options and that's when I started with acupuncture and herbs.

At my first appointment with Jane I was convinced that acupuncture could help me. I consider Jane a truly expert. The knowledge she has and the way she understands every concern is remarkable. Also she has been giving me advises about nutrition and life style since the beginning of the treatment. I had weekly treatments and I could see the wonderful changes the acupuncture and herbs were doing to my body. We decided to have IVF number four. I had seventeen eggs and six embryos to transfer. That was a huge change from the other three IVF. I didn't get pregnant as a result of that IVF but my husband and I decided to stick with acupuncture and herbs. I got pregnant naturally one month after that IVF. I am currently 28 weeks pregnant and I will deliver our baby girl at 43 years old.

Neck Pain

When Dr. Liu punched the needles into the acupuncture points, my pain was just relieved as if it was magic.

One morning when I got up from bed, I felt an extreme pain in the back of my neck. It was like the muscle had twisted. I could not move my head at all. I called my family doctor and followed his recommendation by taking some pain medicine. But it didn’t work at all.

In desperation, after a colleague introduction, I went to see Dr. Liu. I had never had acupuncture nor any other alternative medical treatments experience before.

I was very nervous to see Dr. Liu opened a box of needles. Dr. Liu explained the traditional Chinese treatment thoroughly to me. Then she punched one tiny needle into my skin. It was so quick, I didn’t even notice. I felt numb, sore, but had no pain at all. Dr. Liu punched a total of 8 needles into different spots, including neck, shoulder, leg and hand. She then twisted the needle one by one. I felt more numb and sore. Amazingly, the pain in the neck was gone. After almost 30 minutes, Dr. Liu removed all of the needles. I noticed there was no blood at all. I stood up, I just could not believe, I moved my head without pain. The next day I just could not wait to see Dr. Liu for other treatment. I was totally recovered after the second session.

I don’t know too much about the traditional Chinese treatment. But, one thing I know for sure, IT WORKS!!!
